GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Picardie Timber frame is looking for a skilled carpenter with several years of experience with finish carpentry and on site projects. Must be able to create efficient, precise work with attention to detail and knowledge of all common tools/machinery.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience with millwork or carpentry

  • Self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment

  • ​

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must know traditional basic joinery

  • Must be experienced with the following equipment: Shaper - Table Mitre and Skill Saws - Planer - Jointer - Sanders

  • Ability to check quality of material and assure correct type, amount, dimension, length, etc to produce high quality finished products

  • Must work efficiently, adhere to deadlines and read/work from plans

  • Must be able to work at heights and lift 100 lbs

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with historic preservation woodworking and timber framing

  • Skilled at finish carpentry

  • Lift Certification

​

HOURS:

  • 7AM-4PM M-F, overtime is expected in order to complete projects by deadline. Some Saturdays required.

​

Starting pay will depend on your experience and performance

This is a full time, permanent position.

Candidates must have transportation to the job sites in New Orleans.
